heart of the historic town of Stratford-Upon-Avon

A new property in Stratford-upon-Avon gives guests a chance to explore Shakespeare’s birthplace. Hotel Indigo – Stratford upon Avon is the brand’s debut in the historic town that attracts Shakespeare fans from all over the world.

The small hotel provides less than 100 guestrooms, all with designs inspired by the locale’s history. Classic English materials, antique furnishings and modern fixtures combine for a unique, playful look.

Across the guestrooms, three designs await; The Tudor Rooms channel Shakespeare’s late-life residential home and 16th-century style, the Georgian Townhouse rooms seek inspiration from Shakespeare’s Theatre, and the Contemporary Rooms reflect the town’s more recent past. The hotel’s facade dates back to the 1500s and was part of a public house.

Amenities include Nespresso coffee machines in every room, private walled herb gardens and an outdoor barbecue area.

“We are excited to have officially opened the doors to Hotel Indigo – Stratford Upon Avon. The hotel is a prime example of how Hotel Indigo brings the outside in; drawing on the local neighborhood to inspire every aspect of each hotel, from intriguing design to locally inspired menus. From the restaurant onsite to the exclusive private garden, the hotel is a great place for locals to gather with friends and family. We look forward to welcoming many guests to enjoy Stratford upon Avon, Shakespeare’s home town,” commented Carl Davies-Phillips, general manager, Hotel Indigo – Stratford upon Avon.

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
