Last month, Southwest Airlines announced a slew of new routes, connecting Los Angeles (LAX) to Pittsburgh (PIT) on a non-stop flight; San Diego (SAN) to the Midwest with a daily, non-stop service to Milwaukee (MKE); Sacramento (SMF) to Baltimore/Washington (BWI); and Nashville (BNA) and Charlotte (CLT). There are also new routes from Portland, Ore., (PDX) to Burbank (BUR) and Ontario (ONT).

Southwest is also rolling out an international service from Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport with non-stop service to Nassau (NAS), subject to foreign government approval.

Announcing the new flights before an industry conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico, David Harvey, managing director of business development, Southwest Airlines, said, “These time-saving routes connect our customers in long-time Southwest cities with faster travel times with our unmatched Customer Service. Each addition also enhances our schedule while addressing business demand.”

With the flight schedule extension, the carrier intends to extend year-round its previously seasonal non-stop service between Houston Hobby Airport and both Seattle/Tacoma (SEA) and Portland, Ore.; between Kansas City (MCI) and Seattle/Tacoma, and between San Diego and St. Louis (STL).
