Skyscanner unveiled its Football Flight Finder, a mobile tool allowing travelers to keep an eye on flight deals to see their favorite teams live. “Skyscanner is seeing a travel demand from devoted football fans to be able to easily identify flight deals, and in response developed the Skyscanner Football Flight Finder to meet the needs of this specific traveler. This tool combines the benefit of Skyscanner’s direct airlines and online travel agent partnerships with its very popular planning tools, to provide fans with a simple way to uncover flight deals, matching their favorite team’s season schedule,” said Randi Wolfson, head of communications, Skyscanner. To use the tool, fans choose a home airport and favorite team. The tool filters out the best flight options matching the chosen team’s full game schedule. If fans prefer to search for a particular game, they can also search by stadium, rather than team. A handful of flight options are provided, so travelers have a pick between trips of varying lengths. They can then choose to receive notifications of any price changes. “We anticipate the majority of the selected flights through the Football Flight Finder tool to reflect a three-day weekend vacation. With that prediction, our data shows that departing on a Saturday, or returning on a Tuesday, offers the best prices in airline tickets, and actually booking the flight on a Friday saves you money compared to booking any other day of the week,” added Wolfson.
