Lie-flat seats are all the rage on long-haul flights, with more airlines adding them to existing routes in business- and first-class cabins. Singapore Airlines will be the latest to do so, as they announced they added the fully flat seating in business class on the Singapore (SIN) to Brisbane (BNE) service as of Oct. 30.

The seating is part of the airline’s plan to replace one of its Airbus A330-300 planes with a Boeing 777-200ER on one of its daily Singapore–Brisbane flights. The switch offers business class more space and direct aisle access.

As of Oct. 30, the change was implemented on the carrier’s daytime flight to Brisbane (SQ245) and return overnight flight (SQ246). All other flights between the two cities will continue to use the A330-300 planes without lie-flat seats.

According to a statement made by Tan Tiow Kor, regional vice president, Singapore Airlines, “Our Brisbane customers have been asking for the option of a full flat bed business class seat and I am pleased we are now in a position to operate an aircraft that provides that choice. As more aircraft join our fleet there will be more options to provide greater choice to our customers in the South West Pacific.”
