Scandinavian Airlines now offers the only direct route between Scandinavia and Hong Kong with the launch of new non-stop service between the two destinations this month.
The new route to Hong Kong (HKG) is the carrier’s fourth direct connection between Scandinavia and Asia, joining existing routes to Beijing (PEK), Shanghai (PVG) and Tokyo (NRT). SAS offers the service five times per week from Stockholm (ARN), with excellent connections offered to cities in Scandinavia and other major European hubs.
“We are very proud to be linking Stockholm and the rest of Scandinavia with Hong Kong through a convenient new connection. We look forward to offering a warm welcome on board to all our customers,” said Rickard Gustafson, president and CEO, SAS.
In addition to the new route, SAS also announced the reopening of its popular lounge in Terminal 5 at Arlanda, featuring an exclusive section for EuroBonus Diamond and Gold members and a separate area for passengers flying in Business or SAS Plus. Updated with Scandinavian style combining functionality and design, the lounge features a larger buffet area, new combined meeting rooms/guest offices, travel services, a new relaxation area, workstations, toilets and showers as well as plenty of electrical outlets, charging stations and fast wireless Internet. For younger travelers, the space offers a play area.
The carrier’s long-haul route network also currently includes flights from Scandinavia to New York (JFK), Chicago (ORD), San Francisco (SFO), Houston (IAH) and Washington, D.C. (IAD), with planned service to Los Angeles (LAX) and Miami (MIA) to launch next year.
