Rosewood Amsterdam will open in 2023, as the brand’s 11th property in Europe and first in the Netherlands. Located in the former Palace of Justice, it is conveniently positioned to many of the city’s best attractions.

Rosewood Amsterdam will feature 134 guestrooms and suites, and three restaurants and bars, including one Indian eatery. Sense, A Rosewood Spa will offer Ayurvedic treatments, alongside a state-of-the-art wellness and fitness center and an indoor swimming pool. Meeting and event space, as well as a library in the lobby lounge and an Indian Business Club, are among the property’s many offerings.

“Through design, décor and service, Rosewood’s properties worldwide mirror their surroundings and the souls of the destinations, and Rosewood Amsterdam will be no different,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer, Rosewood Hotel Group. “With a unique character and culture, Amsterdam is a fitting locale for which to bring Rosewood’s guiding A Sense of Place philosophy. We’re looking forward to combining the city’s quintessential charm with a modern sense of style to meet and exceed the latest standards of luxury hospitality.”

Rosewood hotels are in the pipeline in Edinburgh, London, Madrid, Munich, Porto Cervo, Vienna and Venice.

On a summer stroll around my friend’s Colorado Springs Ivywild neighborhood, a school building was bustling. Odd, at first sight, as it was summer, and school was clearly not in session. But upon further inquiry, I learned the former Ivywild Elementary School, closed in 2009, had been completely reimagined as part of a Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority project.
