On Sept. 24, Chicago’s South Loops sees its first rooftop bar with the opening of VU on 133 East Cermak. Located 22 stories above McCormick Place, VU Rooftop Bar comes from James Beard-nominated Concentrics Restaurant Group and boasts 13,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space.

Guests enjoy the sweeping views of the city’s lakes and downtown bustle between visits to the solarium bar, boardroom, karaoke room and club bar.

The versatile space offers more than a view — although that is a top attraction. The menu features ingredient-inspired and curated menu items crafted by highly-esteemed Executive Chef Nolan Narut. Pair with sommelier-crafted and locally sourced beverages and you have yourself a fine cocktail hour.

Expect high design, impressive service and fixtures to impress — like a 40-stool main bar for starters. During the cold-weather nights, sit along the firepit lounge area or head to the East terrace for the solarium bar, encased in retractable glass walls for an outdoor feel in the winter and actual al fresco design in the summer.

Over on the West terrace, guests find an impressive water and fire fountain at the center with an outdoor lounge surrounding — all with Chicago’s iconic skyline setting the scene.

Plan your meeting to impress or enjoy a private party in Chicago’s newest and highly-anticipated rooftop bar.
