Riding the famed Rocky Mountaineer through the Canadian Rockies is the stuff of bucket lists. Passengers will soon be enjoying overhauled SilverLeaf rail cars on the trip in addition to the scenery.

The train line is partnering with French rail provider Alstom to strip the cars down to their frames and completely redo them.

“We underwent extensive research to understand what our guests require to be completely comfortable and have every amenity available at their seat,” said Gord Miller, vice president of rail operations and asset development, Rocky Mountaineer, in a statement. “Alstom is a leader in train car builds and often at the helm of new developments in engineering. After much consideration and evaluation of prospective partners, Alstom had the expertise to produce the best possible SilverLeaf cars.”

The upgrades include state-of-the-art mechanical systems, luxurious seating and oversized windows to view the scenery.
