Ever since Aloft Hotels introduced Botlr in 2014 as a customer service robot that delivers items to guestrooms, other hotels jumped on the high-tech train by implementing similar technologies in their properties. With the advent of 2018, these all-service robots become more prevalent at forward-thinking accommodations across the country.

Customer service robots use sensors and WiFi connections to move about the property and operate machinery, like elevators. When a guest makes a simple room service request, such as needing more toiletries, asking for bottled water or inquiring about any other room service-related need, hotel staff can deploy a robot to run the errand to the guestroom while they remain at the front desk to handle more pressing matters.

Other hotels that launched their own robot servers include H Hotel in Los Angeles (named Hannah), the Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas (named Pepper), the Royal Sonesta in Boston and the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel, opened last month.
