I felt privileged to be in Atlanta during the grand opening of Cat Cora’s Kitchen at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. As you know, Cat was our guest of honor at the 2015 GT Tested Reader Survey Awards gala at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. I happened to be in Atlanta to meet with airport authorities regarding their continual efforts to improve the most traveled airport in the world. As Olivia Falcione (GT Atlanta guru) and I were returning home, I suggested we check out Cat Cora’s place. We were enjoying a wonderful meal when in walked Cat, and we chatted with her about this great addition to Terminal A. She’s a busy bee, but we hope to nail her down for an upcoming chef interview in Global Traveler. As we enter June, Global Traveler readers and staff alike prepare for a summer of travel. Some of us will kick up the sand at our local beaches while others will take off to do some business overseas or check another destination off our must-visit list. The team at GT will combine both and will have some interesting articles to share in coming issues. This month our team attends its annual Global Traveler conference in Prince William & Manassas, Va., where we will spend a fun-filled four days covering the topics for 2017 and enjoying golf, spas and the historic sites of this beautiful area. The agenda includes a meeting in the Old Manassas Courthouse, visits to local wineries and craft breweries and many more local activities — packed in with real planning, of course! Next month we attend the Global Business Travel Association convention in Denver, where the industry will update everyone on the newest product offerings and services. This presents an opportunity to get in front of the movers and shakers and find out what they have in store for travelers. At the convention, we will hold our annual reception for attendees and announce the winners of The Trazees, awards from our sister publication, trazeetravel.com.
