The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing brings four guest masters to the property this year, allowing guests to further explore the best and most innovative in wellness and healing alongside some of the world’s top experts.
“The secrets to much of what we seek in modern-day life — from fast wellness fixes to increased global connectivity — have already been discovered many centuries ago,” said Julia Li, spa director, Four Seasons Hotel Beijing. “Our 2019 Visiting Masters Program packages some of these profound balancing techniques into easily accessible treatments that offer ancient resolutions for modern problems.”
Every Tuesday through 2019, guests can book The Royal Treatment with Zhang Hong Guo, which draws on traditional Chinese techniques originating with the imperial physician of the Qing Dynasty. The Royal Treatment includes a meridien adjustment for 90 minutes of inner balance to arouse self-healing; external Chinese physical therapy, including acupuncture, moxibustion, scrapping and cupping; and a bonesetting massage. Each priced separately.
May 3–12, guests enjoy osteopathic treatments with Louis Adrien Ollu, a master in osteopathy, traditional Chinese medicine and allergy desensitization. Ollu is best known for osteopathic desengrammation, an energetic cranial osteopathy to treat anything from skin conditions and allergies to fertility issues and hormonal imbalances.
June 7–16, Ryoma Ochiai provides four different therapies, using his experiences providing massage as a tool to connect with and support the life journeys of others. Treatments include a therapeutic muscle realignment massage; bespoke Asian bodywork massage that releases energy blockages; Thai massage for full-body pressure and stretching; and a full-body stretch massage that focuses on stretching several points together.

Sep 30, 2026Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley
Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
