Staying at Casa Velas in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, guests enjoy access not only to that property and its amazing amenities but also to the amenities at its sister hotel, Velas Vallarta. During my recent stay at Casa Velas, I took full advantage of that perk, whether relaxing on the beach, enjoying various on-property restaurants or treating myself to a peaceful treatment at The Spa at Velas Vallarta.
After a relaxing first day spent hanging out at nearby Taú Beach Club, I decided to keep the laid-back vibes flowing with a visit to The Spa at Velas Vallarta the next morning. The Spa at Velas Vallarta offers a tropical paradise where guests can relax, rejuvenate, and harmonize with nature and the surrounding Banderas Bay. Treatments range from healing massages and body treatments to facials and aromatherapy treatments. All offerings use local, natural and organic products and oils for a unique experience on the Puerto Vallarta coast.
Thanks to an expansive spa menu, guests won’t have a hard time finding the right treatment for them. The massage menu offers a traditional back massage; aromatherapy massage, using the sense of smell to help relax; therapeutic massage using deep tissue techniques to ease tension; Masaje Prenatal, which works out the soreness of legs and back to improve circulation for expecting mothers; and a sports massage, promoting the recovery of tired muscles and prepping for intense exercise.
I opted for the aromatherapy massage, which combines relaxing Swedish techniques with various scents to help ease muscle tension. With the traveling I did the day before, it sounded like the perfect way to reduce travel stress and soreness. The 55-minute, full-body massage started with a sweet scent filling my nose as I settled into my treatment. Each time my therapist moved to a different spot on my body, a new scent filled the air. With each scent, I felt myself getting more and more relaxed. My attentive therapist made sure to check the pressure, temperature and scents were to my liking — I could tell her goal was to make sure I reached ultimate relaxation.

The spa also offers a variety of special massages such as the Moonlight Massage, a couple’s massage in a romantic atmosphere; Candle Massage, featuring warm drops from a lavender candle as well as tangerine, salt, incense and palm wax; and Eternal Youth Massage, which helps the lymphatic system and eliminates toxins. Therapies range from reflexology and acupressure to lymphatic drainage and hot stone massage. Facials address every skin type with deep cleansing, hydrating, rejuvenating and other therapies. Other options include a variety of scrubs, exfoliants and wraps.
The Spa at Velas Vallarta offers three indoor treatment rooms and beachfront spa cabanas, each designed for balance, wellness and a spiritual experience. Travelers looking for a more intimate, private setting can opt for indoor rooms, but cabanas offer the ultimate seaside immersion, surrounded by the salt air with the relaxing sound of waves crashing on the shore. Spa packages are also available and offer personalized experiences, luxurious amenities and more. Expert therapists take you on a journey to ultimate relaxation and beyond. The selection of packages combines the spa’s best treatments and wellness offerings.
If you find all of these treatment options overwhelming, the spa packages section on the spa’s website lists special offers of the month. Here you will discover some of the most popular treatments and maybe even find some deals and discounts. Guests are invited to enhance their wellness experience with a visit to the facility’s salon. After your treatment, keep the pampering going with beauty treatments such as a haircut, color and a blowout; or choose refresh, makeup services, waxing, a full nail care menu with manicures and pedicures, and much more. Couples getting married on property will also be delighted to find wedding packages and offers for brides, grooms, wedding parties and family.
Before or after your treatment, make sure to take advantage of the on-site fitness center, offering state-of-the-art equipment including treadmills, elliptical machines, strength training equipment, free weights and stretching areas. The resort’s dedicated concierge team stands ready to help you book your personalized and dream experience with everything from the best treatment for your needs to the perfect location.
