Philippine Airlines joined the TSA PreCheck program, allowing select passengers to receive an expedited security screening traveling to and from the United States. The airline is the latest Asian company to join the ranks.
Few carriers outside of the United States are approved for the PreCheck program, but several Asian airlines recently received approval, including Singapore Airlines and Japan’s All Nippon Airways.
Approved passengers go through a dedicated TSA PreCheck lane and avoid removing shoes, jackets, belts, liquids and laptops when going through security. Approval is open to all U.S. citizens, nationals and lawful permanent residents as well as members of Global Entry, Sentri and Nexus traveler programs. Enrollment is done through an in-person interview and background check, and eligibility is good for five years.
