Following a top-to-bottom refurbishment as part of the brand’s $100 million enhancement initiative, Oceania Cruises’ Sirena offers completely new staterooms, suites and public spaces.

The ship’s nearly 350 staterooms now include new entry doors, furnishings, full-length mirrors and charging stations.

In the public spaces, guests notice new lighting fixtures and artwork, as Oceania Cruises boasts a multimillion-dollar art collection. An original by Jacques Pepin hangs in the ship’s coffee bar, Bar Istas. The work was commissioned specifically for the ship.

“I don’t know whether my painting has helped my cuisine, or whether my cooking has helped my painting, and I don’t know if one borrows from the other. All I know is that, certainly for me, cooking and painting can live in harmony together. Both are different expressions of who I am, and both enhance my life considerably,” said the famous culinary figurehead. Pepin is also Oceania Cruises’ executive culinary director.

Other artwork throughout includes a portrait of Claudine Pepin, Jacques’ daughter and the ship’s godmother. The piece was commissioned from Soumiya Lakshmi Kirshnaswamy.

“I knew I was creating something that would be living aboard the Sirena. I love the water, and to be out on the middle of an ocean. I made this piece as part of [a] collection that seeks to capture the spirit of adventure that lies in the sea and with people who follow in pursuit of it,” said Lakshmi Kirshnaswamy, a Pepin family friend.
