As budget airline Norwegian Air continues to expand its routes from European cities to U.S. destinations and back, the company strives to meet the needs of its growing crop of passengers. To keep prices low, Norwegian charges extra fees for services like checked bags, in-flight meals and seatback entertainment, but there is one worthy perk on the horizon trans-Atlantic travelers will be able to count on in the near future: WiFi.
After becoming the first airline to launch free in-flight WiFi for travel within Europe on some of its smaller aircraft, Norwegian looks to expand this service by outfitting its larger vessels (Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 737 Max planes) with WiFi connectivity, making it the first airline to offer the service for trans-Atlantic routes.
The exact launch date remains to be seen, but Norwegian developers aim to introduce the service at some point in mid-to-late 2018.
