The growing hospitality industry in Poland means fabulous new lodging for travelers to sample. Along with new properties Crowne Plaza Warsaw Hub and Radisson Hotel & Suites Gdańsk on Granary Island, upcoming openings also include Hilton Garden Inn Kolobrzeg (2019) and Staybridge (2019). Meanwhile, consider these recently opened or soon-to-open luxury addresses.
Located in a 160-year-old building built in 1857 by Enrico Marconi, Raffles Europejski Warsaw in city center welcomes travelers to the Polish capital with a sense of Old World elegance. Carefully restored spaces boast modern luxury features such as deep, freestanding tubs, a contemporary color palette and a host of therapeutic treatments at Raffles Spa. The stunning spa includes a mosaic from the 1960s by artist Krystyna Kozłowska entitled “Abduction of Europa,” setting the mood for a rejuvenating sojourn. Along with five treatment rooms and a private VIP couple’s room, guests enjoy the sauna, steam bath, experience showers and ice fountain. For dining, choices include Long Bar inspired by the famed Long Bar at Raffles Singapore, plus Europejski Grill and Lobby Lounge. Cigar aficionados can dine at Humidor, while guests can take a break for tea or coffee and indulge their sweet tooth at the classic Lourse Warszawa patisserie.
Later this year, the PURO Łódź Centrum opens in city center across from the Poznański Palace. The location is within easy walking distance of Manufaktura arts center, shopping mall and leisure complex that includes the city’s most expansive public square. The hotel pays architectural tribute to the city’s post-industrial vibe, incorporating elements of creative luxury, imbued within a sleek minimalist décor.
The PURO Warszawa Centrum follows in 2019. The hotel design features architecture by JEMS and interiors by London’s DeSallesFlint. Positioned close to the Centrum metro and Central Station, the hotel also enjoys proximity to the Palace of Culture and Science. From the dining room’s sea mural to the wood accents and muted color palette of guestrooms, the property promises to be a tranquil oasis.
