More Men Than Women Prefer To Wait At The Airport

I like to arrive at the airport at least two hours before my flight, so I can relax and get organized.

I’m too busy to hang around the airport, so I arrive just in time to make my flight.

If you identified with the first statement, you’re most likely a man. If the second statement hit home, you’re probably a woman.

At least according to the results of a survey by GO Airport Express and The GO Group, LLC. While more than 71 percent of total travelers surveyed said they arrive at the airport two hours before their scheduled domestic flights, more men (75 percent) than women (69 percent) prefer to arrive early.

Thirty-one percent of women and 24 percent of men said they arrive just one hour before their flight times. Less than 1 percent of all travelers surveyed said they like to arrive as late as possible, noting they like to board the plane as soon as they arrive at the gate. Five of the 267 respondents said 90 minutes is the ideal window of time between arriving at the airport and their scheduled flight departure.

Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
