The design is unique, the food impeccable. The place? Mexická, a Mexican restaurant situated in a historic, industrial town square within an old, elevated brewery space located in a neighborhood called Holešovice, the “coolest” district in Prague.

The restaurant space, opened in March 2025, features original show kitchens where tortillas are baked right in front of the guests’ tacos. Special food is prepared on the grill and in a wood-fired oven. It is all so unusual and interesting.

In the area of the restaurant with the fish tank, ceviche is prepared right in front of the guests, with all individual ingredients visible. The kitchen, like the large cocktail bar, has an authentic shape and includes a drink display case that extends above the bar to another gallery.

Other traditional Mexican dishes include grilled pork chop with salsa verde, chicken enchilada casserole and vegetable mole, along with daily accompaniments that include corn tortillas, papas bravas and salads.

The galleries have columns composed of stone reliefs with motifs of Mayan pictographs, which feature original alphabet characters created exclusively for the Mexican restaurant by graphic designer Petr Štěpán in collaboration with the architects and sculptors.

The Latin American atmosphere is underlined precisely by the combination of references to historical civilizations (also an inherent part of Mexican culture), the colonial spirit in monumental symmetry and the famous atmosphere of a Mexican street.

The Mexická Project was initiated by the Together Gastro Alliance. Together’s co-owner David Petřík believes Asia, Italy and Mexico are the most important players in the global culinary scene, so adding a Mexican restaurant to the portfolio was only a matter of time, and he found Prague the perfect location. The goal was to create a monumental space in Prague offering not only Central American cuisine, but also to capture Mexican culture by using design features and unique decorations.
