Meliá Hotels International announced the hotel chain’s next major launch, ME Miami, bringing the ME by Meliá brand to the United States. Slated for a spring 2015 opening, the bayfront property will take over the current location of Casa Moderna Hotel at 1100 Biscayne Boulevard. The area will also be home to the new Miami World Center, including a huge shopping mall.
“We are incredibly excited about the launch of ME Miami and are thrilled to begin this project in one of the most iconic cities in the United States with its strategic location and all the offerings the city of Miami has to offer,” said Gabriel Escarrer, CEO and vice chairman, Meliá Hotels International.
ME Miami will offer 129 rooms, two rooftop pools and more than 5,000 square feet of food and beverage facilities, as well as dining and event space and a spa. The property will feature the first-ever STK Rebel, a casual version of the traditional steakhouse.
In 2014, ME Mallorca and ME Ibiza debuted. ME Milan Il Duca and ME Caracas are scheduled for 2015, with the Zaha Hadid’s ME Dubai planned for 2016.
