Marriott recently announced plans for two new Caribbean resorts, one in Jamaica and another in Curaçao. Both are expected to open in 2022.
An 800-guestroom resort is planned for Trelawney, Jamaica. The Marriott Hotel Al Amaterra is part of a mixed-use development on three miles of beachfront.
A smaller, 283-guestroom Autograph Collection property is slated for Curaçao. The property is planned as the Autograph Collection’s first, franchised all-inclusive resort.
The properties join other Marriott projects in the Caribbean, including four new-build resorts underway in Mexico, all expected to open by 2025, and a property in the Dominican Republic expected to open in 2022.
“The signings for these two incredible, all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica and Curaçao underscore the tremendous momentum for our all-inclusive platform, which leverages Marriott International’s iconic brands, leading business support systems and Marriott Bonvoy travel program,” said Laurent de Kousemaeker, chief development officer, Marriott International, Caribbean and Latin America.
