Q&A TIME

In our November 2021 issue we asked: With 2021 coming to a close, we’d love to know your favorite place you’ve traveled to this year; do you have any trips booked for 2022? A few readers wrote in:

Yes, we have several trips planned for 2022, including our first international journey since January 2020, as well as our first cruise since the pandemic. We’re visiting Portugal and Spain in March 2022, then heading to London, Paris and Brussels in July. Our Alaska cruise will depart in September 2022, and we also have other domestic trips planned to Lake Tahoe; Miami; Las Vegas; and Portland, Oregon. Can’t wait to get back to it!

ELLIS PALMER, VIA EMAIL

I’m excited to say I recently booked my first post-COVID business trip to see clients after the holidays in early January, followed by a convention in March and another round of client visits in April. I’ve traveled for leisure since the pandemic and plan to do my fair share of that as well in 2022, but our company recently decided it’s time to return to business travel, and I happily started planning!

CAROLYN FIELDS, VIA EMAIL

I am starting to plan my 2022 travel schedule; in the beginning of 2021 I planned to be away every other month. And in 2022, and especially now that I’ve received my Pfizer booster shot, I’m planning to return to my 2019-level travel, which included a long weekend trip once every month and two international trips. Now to open my latest copy of Global Traveler for some inspiration as I start planning.

In the Oct. 6 issue of eFlyerUSA, we told readers about the new World of Hyatt Business Credit Card. The adaptive rewards accelerator allows cardmembers to earn two bonus points per $1 spent for their top three of eight spend categories each calendar quarter through Dec. 31, 2022, among many other benefits. We asked: Are you planning to sign up for the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card? One reader says,”Yes.”

I am a small business owner and a loyal Hyatt customer, so when I heard about this card option, I knew it was for me! I signed up immediately, and we’re already thrilled with the many benefits of the credit card.

HOSPITALITY HEATS UP WITH NEW UPSCALE PROPERTIES FOR 2022
In our Class Act 2021 issue, our article on new hotels opening in 2022 included Franklin, Tennessee’s Southall. We erroneously called the property Southall Farms, but the correct name is Southall, which will be a 325-acre farm reborn as a luxurious country getaway complete with guestrooms, cottages, a spa and activities themed around farm, wellness, adventure and culinary programs led by James Beard Award multi-nominee Chef Tyler Brown.

INDIANAPOLIS AIRPORT RECEIVES LARGEST AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT GRANT IN NATION
In the Sept. 29 issue of eFlyerUSA, we told readers Indianapolis received the largest airport improvement grant in the nation, with $56 million for airfield improvements. We asked: Are you excited to see the improvements at IND? One reader shared feedback:

Indianapolis is my home gateway, so I read your article with gusto! I hope the improvements and changes are swift and implemented in a nondisruptive manner. And I love that there’s an element of sustainability included in the plans.

NEW AIRLINE AHA! INAUGURATES RENO-TAHOE HUB
In the Oct. 27 issue of eFlyerUSA, we told readers about aha!, a new airline making a home base at Reno-Tahoe International Airport. We asked: Are you excited to see new airlines launching in the United States? What underserved or smaller markets would you like to see receive new airline services? One reader shared:

As a Reno native I’m so accustomed to either driving far to airports or making one or two connections to reach my final destination, so I’m thrilled with the new airline and its plans to expand to other smaller Western U.S. cities. If we start to get more services, the airport will only become busier and attract more airlines and more direct routes. Win-win for all of us!
