Level launched a new Pair and Pay mobile option, allowing passengers to pay for in-flight services using smartphones. The technology connects devices to the seatback screen, allowing payment for services like food, drinks, WiFi, amenity kits and duty-free products.
The carrier says the technology will expand to allow payment for entertainment including TV shows, movies and music. Passengers add items to a digital shopping cart on their screen and connect a device to the onboard network to pair with the seatback. They can then pay for their products.
The LEVEL.air app, available for Android and Apple devices, lets customers set up an account and store credit or debit payment for one-click purchases.
Level says it’s the first airline to use the technology, available on flights from Barcelona (BCN) to Buenos Aires (EZE), Oakland (OAK), Los Angeles (LAX) and Punta Cana (PUJ).
