Dutch airline KLM rolled out a revamped meal service for Europe business-class passengers. The airline said the meals will be boxed, like a Japanese bento box, where different compartments hold small portions of food to make a larger meal.

The airline started serving the new meals Oct. 28, and said they’re now “more substantial and varied, reflecting first-class quality.”

Meals served before noon have fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, cold cuts and a hot roll. After noon, they have a salad and side dishes, such as apple pie.

The airline said it will try to use local vendors as much as possible in its recyclable boxes. They’re designed for larger portions, with more space to hold a drink and fit the tray tables on KLM’s Embraer planes.

Passengers on the airline’s six longest routes — Cagliari (CAG), Helsinki (HEL), Ibiza (IBZ), Porto (OPO), Split (SPU) and Valencia (VLC) — in business class, can choose when they get their meal. Boxes also include a Dutch kroket snack or a spinach and feta pastry.
