By the end of 2019, JetBlue will launch its longest non-stop flight as the airline continues its expansion beyond the United States to points abroad.
The new flight will connect New York (JFK) with Guayaquil (GYE), Ecuador, usually the base site for travelers visiting the Galapagos Islands off the coast of South America.
Flights from New York will travel to José Joaquin de Olmedo International Airport in Guayaquil on a daily basis, with flights departing at 2 p.m., and arriving in Guayaquil at 9:04 p.m. Returning flights will leave Guayaquil at 10:55 p.m. and land in New York at 5:13 a.m. the next day.
This route to Guayaquil will join JetBlue’s other route to this city from Fort Lauderdale (FLL), but a new acquisition of Airbus A321neo planes will allow JetBlue to launch longer flights. This will be the second Ecuadorian city and the sixth South American city served by JetBlue.
