JetBlue will launch flights to new cities — mostly in Delta’s wheelhouse.

Starting in March, the airline will fly between Atlanta (ATL) and New York (JFK) and between Atlanta and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO). Tickets went on sale last month.

“We are excited to bring our award-winning service and low fares to even more markets from Atlanta,” said Marty St. George, executive vice president commercial and planning, JetBlue. “Customers flying between Boston and Atlanta have shown a strong appetite for a competitive option like JetBlue, and we anticipate we’ll see the same for the New York, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando routes.”

The new routes double the number of daily flights the airline offers in Atlanta, and connects the market with key locations in the Northeast and Florida.

The new flights from Atlanta to New York and Fort Lauderdale will operate twice a day, and the Orlando–Atlanta service will operate once daily. JetBlue’s Airbus A320 aircraft will operate all of the new flights.

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
