In late September, JetBlue launched its first flight from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) using its newly adopted Airbus A321neo.
Named after JetBlue founder David Neeleman, the aircraft features three-and-three seating, a pantry full of snacks and individual USB charging stations at all seats, also equipped with seat-back entertainment screens. Passengers can rest comfortably with adjustable headrests. Multiple seatback pockets make it easier to store (and see) everything you’re traveling with.
With newer, fuel-efficient engines, the Airbus A321neo can fly longer distances than the A321, the latter of which has been part of the JetBlue fleet for years.
This inaugural flight marks the airline’s first foray into this style of plane, with the first flight taking place on the short-haul version of the Airbus A321neo. With the larger planes equipped for long distances, Airbus set its sights across the pond, hoping to launch flights from the United States to Europe by 2021.
