Japan became famous for its cat cafés, where people can sip coffee and interact with cats, and it will take the concept to a new level with a cat café train.

Atlas Obscura reports the first-of-its-kind experience is a partnership between Kitten Café Sanctuary and the Yoro Railway Co. Ltd. The train ride involves 30 rescue kittens aboard a passenger train with a few dozen riders. The trip lasts 2.5 hours.

The trips were short lived, with just two offered in September. The experience included a bento box lunch, sweets and unlimited travel on the Yoro Railway for the day. A portion of the fare was donated to the Sanctuary’s rescue programs.

“They were so light and little and curious about everything,” one passenger told Atlas Obscura. “Three kittens circled one woman for nearly the entire ride, clambering all over her. Another passenger spent hours cradling a tiny black cat to his chest.”

Each ride fit 40 people, and tickets sold out within hours of their release. There’s no word on whether more rides are planned, but the success would seem to indicate it’s at least a viable business concept.
