In Donegal, where rugged landscape, cliff tops and sleepy fishing villages reign, the jutting headland of Malin Head offers an ideal viewpoint. For a taste of art, folklore, culture and beaches, take the ferry from Fanad to Tory Island.

The highest accessible sea cliffs in Europe can be found at Slieve League, where the views are breathtaking. Mullaghmore Head is a haven for watersports enthusiasts. Take in a stunning view from 126 feet above the ocean at Downpatrick Head.

Keem Bay is home to the famous Deserted Village, while Killary Harbor’s glacial fjords and dramatic Connemara coastline attract adventure seekers.

History awaits in the blanket bog of Derrigimlagh, in Clifden, Galway. O’Brien’s Tower, perched 702 feet high on the iconic Cliffs of Moher, provides sweeping vistas of the Aran Islands. A lighthouse dating to 1670 and the bottlenose dolphins inhabiting the waters complement the panoramic views at Loop Head.

Blaskets Island is the westernmost point in Europe, and the sandstone-jutting Skelligs Viewpoint off Bay Head is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Ireland’s only cable car service resides on remote Dursey Island.

The Wild Atlantic Way delights, whether starting in the north, or with Ireland’s Teardrop at Mizen Head and Old Head of Kinsale in the south.

TAKE A JOURNEY of discovery along the Causeway Coastal Route of Northern Ireland, covering 130 spectacular miles between Belfast and Londonderry. Discover a plethora to explore and admire along this passageway of saints, warriors, writers and more.

A few highlights of the route include the ancestral home of the seventh U.S. president, Andrew Jackson, in Boneybefore, and the Scottish baronial house known as Ballygally Castle.

Ruins from a castle originally built in the mid-1600s remain in Waterfoot. The three lighthouses of Rathlin Island are ripe for exploration on a short detour and ferry ride from Ballycastle.

Be adventurous crossing an 80-foot-deep chasm on the world-famous rope bridge of Carrick-a-Rede before heading to the hexagonal basalt columns that earned Giants Causeway UNESCO World Heritage site status.

Continuing toward Londonderry, admire the unique limestone cliffs of Whiterocks and Ballymoney, inhabited since Neolithic times. The largest accumulation of sand deposits in Ireland can be found in Magilligan, and some remains of an original settlement still stand in Eglinton.
