Hyatt recently announced a new series of initiatives aimed at reducing waste at all Hyatt properties around the world. All initiatives are intended to begin as soon as possible, but no later than June 2021.

Initiatives include replacing all small, traditional toiletries with large-sized bathroom amenities; adding water stations to public spaces to accommodate guests filling reusable water bottles; and serving water at meetings and events in carafes, versus bottled water.

The new initiatives are in addition to others already taking place at select properties. Many Hyatt properties in the Middle East already use in-house water bottling plants and glass water bottles to replace single-use plastic bottles. Beach resorts in select locales distribute reusable water bottles to guests at check-in. Filtered water spouts are even installed in every guestroom at Park Hyatt Istanbul – Macka Palas, providing guests with instant access to fresh drinking water.
