Keeping up with expiration dates for various miles and points programs is not typically something high on anyone’s to-do list. Here are a few ways to keep track of your points across programs and get ahead of any impending expiration dates.
Creating a free account on AwardWallet is one of the easiest ways to view all your points and miles in one place, as well as their corresponding dates of expiry. The website/app covers about 700 loyalty programs and can even send email alerts when an expiration date is approaching.
Another way to prevent point expiration is to sign up for and focus on those programs where points never expire, like Delta’s SkyMiles program or JetBlue’s TrueBlue.
You can also look into transferring your points from one account to a partner account, applicable to some credit cards and hotel loyalty programs.
If your deadline is fast approaching and you’re looking for the quickest way to keep your account active, use your points to shop online, dine out or donate to charity.
