Hainan Airlines unveiled several recent upgrades as it continues to enhance the passenger experience.

Last week, Hainan Airlines flight HU7805 took off from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport en route to Beijing (PEK) on a newly redesigned Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

The upgraded aircraft features 292 seats in a cabin layout highlighting the airline’s iconic red and grey color scheme. Business-class passengers can stretch out in reverse herringbone seats and enclosure-extended aisle seats facing the window to enhance privacy. The middle seats are surrounded by dividers, allowing family members to maintain a sense of privacy and intimacy. Economy-class passengers are treated to seats fitted with an ergonomic back, as well as an adjustable head cushion.

Guests on the maiden flight to Beijing enjoyed Nespresso coffees, standard on all of Hainan Airlines’ long-haul international business routes served by the 787. Passengers will also have access to advanced in-flight entertainment.

In addition to the upgraded 787 aircraft, Hainan Airlines customers can also take advantage of a new international lounge, HNA Club, located across from Gate 12 in Beijing Capital International Airport’s Terminal 2.

The lounge, designed by Dr. Patrick Leung, a well-known architect and designer from Hong Kong, features a modern aesthetic combining natural materials with contemporary conveniences. The spacious lounge accommodates up to 150 visitors and contains more than a dozen different areas to choose from. From traditional Chinese tea art displays and reading rooms to relaxation and sleeping spaces, showers and an exclusive VIP room, the new HNA Club is a travel experience in and of itself.

One of Hawai’i’s Most Popular (and Controversial) Attractions Being Demolished

If you haven’t actually climbed them, you’ve seen beautiful photos of them at one time or another: Hawai’i’s Stairway to Heaven, located on Oahu. The 3,922-step hike ascends Koolau Mountain Range and has been illegal to hike since 1987. But this has not stopped travelers and locals from doing so, even with a steep fine of $1,000 for trespassing.
