Gulf Air will upgrade its planes used for its Bahrain (BAH)–London (LHR) route to the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner later this year. The flights will start June 15, operating twice a day.
The airline will receive five 787s this year, with more arriving by the end of 2020. The plane includes 256 economy seats and 26 of Gulf Air’s newly updated Falcon Gold business-class seats.
The airline currently uses Airbus A330 aircraft on its long-haul routes; the new Dreamliners will gradually replace these planes.
British Airways also flies a Heathrow–Bahrain route, using a Boeing 777 aircraft.
