Awards winners representing travel industry leaders around the world turned out in force to accept kudos during the 11th annual Global Traveler GT Tested Reader Survey awards in Beverly Hills.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Peninsula Beverly Hills, voted Best Individual Hotel in the United States in this year’s survey, was the setting for the festive gala.
More than 200 guests gathered to congratulate the respected winners on their achievements. Guest of honor Michael Yo appeared on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Yo, a television host and comedian, has appearing on Chelsea Lately, The Insider and The Talk.
A charismatic host, Yo urged attendees to donate travel-related prizes to Global Traveler’s charity auction, benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The auction kicks off March 1. Founded in 1949 and headquartered in White Plains, N.Y., LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services.
The event also honored inductees into GT’s Hall of Fame, an exclusive group of award-winners with 10 consecutive wins in their categories. Honorees included Air Canada, Incheon Airport and InterContinental Hotels Group IHG Rewards Club.
