At the in the northern town of Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic, visitors can marvel at the best in Bohemian glass art with a special exhibit that showcases historic items from the museum’s permanent collection: “Two in One: Czech and Slovak Glass Design 1918–2018,” on view through April 14, 2019. The museum’s collection includes hundreds of thousands of items, including costume jewelry, books, magazines, buttons, Riedel glass, medals and plaques. Established in 1904, it’s still the country’s only museum devoted to glass and jewelry.

Elsewhere in Prague’s Holešovice neighborhood, travelers will find the newly opened Mama Shelter Hotel. Funky Boho design reigns, with room categories that include Medium Mama, Large Mama, XXL Mama and the 376-square-foot Mama Penthouse — complete with a bed suspended from the ceiling.

The main restaurant resembles an oversized chessboard, with an eclectic collection of deliberately mismatched upholstery and stools shaped like chess pieces. The collection of menus ranges from Kidz, Wines and Coffee menus to Cocktails, Lunch & Dinner and the Garden Bar Menu. Sip something slightly wild, like an Aztec Biscuit made with Four Roses Bourbon, nut syrup, chocolate bitters, lemon juice and nutmeg; or nosh on a Sopska salad with Balkan cheese or grilled Cevapi in wood-fired pita bread.
