With new hotels popping up across the world, planning 2024 travels becomes that much harder when deciding where to stay. These eight boutique and upscale hotels promise more than just a good night’s sleep; each immerses you in its surroundings for an unforgettable experience.

Château des Fleurs

Perhaps one of the most iconic streets in the world is now home to a new luxury boutique hotel within a 1910 building. Château des Fleurs, located on the stunning Champs-Elysées, pays tribute to the elegance and lightness of 19th-century Parisian balls and the Belle Epoque. With 27 rooms, the hotel also houses a bar and restaurant, gym and spa, and more. Guestrooms include plenty of natural light, rounded headboards, ceiling reliefs and Murano glass lamps for pops of color.

TRUNK(HOTEL) Sapporo, Japan

This year, TRUNK Hotels announced plans to expand its ever-growing portfolio in Japan with TRUNK(HOTEL) Sapporo, slated to open spring 2027 in Sapporo, Hokkaido Spring. Marking the brand’s first property outside of Tokyo, the hotel will also be the first in the brand with a spa component. Guests will also enjoy an airy and naturally lit café, bar and lounge, restaurant showcasing local Hokkaido ingredients and a multipurpose space including a theater.

The Artisan at Tuscan Village

Traveling stateside? If your travels bring you to New Hampshire, make way for the all-new The Artisan Hotel at Tuscan Village in Salem. Stay in the world’s first eco-lodge built of sustainable earth bricks in the middle of the Colombian Andes. Cannúa, located just 40 minutes from Medellin airport, is the country’s first high-end, sustainable eco-lodge. Featuring 18 rooms (including six cabanas and two junior suites), the unique lodge also boasts a spa, bar and restaurant. In fact, the restaurant was nominated one of the best in Colombia, focusing on the lost flavors of Colombia, incorporating ingredients from the on-site organic gardens. Cannúa is currently reforesting in acreage using permaculture without chemicals to regenerate natural ecosystems and become carbon negative.

Opened Nov. 1, Uga Riva in Negombo sits on a lush, 5-acre coconut plantation, the main house offering seven bedrooms complete with a traditional courtyard and open verandas. The 180-year-old manor provides guests with cozy spaces and top-notch amenities, inviting them to walk the same halls as previous guests like Mahatma Gandhi. Thoughtfully reimagined to feature modern services and amenities, Uga Riva is the image of historic luxury in Sri Lanka.

Étoile du Nord, France

The latest chalet to join Haute Montagne, Étoile du Nord brings two contemporary, adjoining chalets to the heart of Val d’Isere. Ten years in the making, the new property is a reinterpretation of the traditional chalet, with dramatic floor-to-ceiling window facades, open-plan kitchens, large stone islands and bespoke furnishings. Accessible via a private tunnel driveway, the property sleeps up to 14 guests with seven bedrooms in the East Wing and six in the West Wing. Luxurious spa areas, private cozy cinemas and game rooms, indoor/outdoor pools, 24-hour concierge service and private chefs round out the experience.

Casa Monti, Rome

In the first half of 2024, Leitmotiv, the same owners of La Fantaisie in Paris, debuts Casa Monti in Rome. Located in the charming neighborhood of Rione Monti, the boutique hotel features 36 tasteful guestrooms, a restaurant, bar, rooftop and spa overlooking the Eternal City. Casa Monti sits within walking distance of some of Rome’s must-visit sites, including the Forum and Via Cavour.
