This winter, The Botany, a new independent resort and spa, will open on one of the most untouched coastal enclaves in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. The hotel’s debut also marks the first luxury resort on St. Thomas’ Western tip.
The all-villa property includes villa kings, a single refined room aimed straight at the coastline with a private terrace; villa suites, a one-bedroom with its own living space, real lounge seating, and dedicated space for light dining and entertaining; and villa residences, two- and three-bedroom homes built for groups, some with private pools and all with indoor-outdoor expanses. All villas feature both indoor and outdoor showers. Design elements include vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, private terraces, green and pearl tiles, curved walls, floor-to-ceiling glass, and native Virgin Islands blue volcanic stone details.

Anchoring the property are two pools: The Sequence Pool curves like a wave, framing the bay, while Legacy Pool is a more laidback and relaxed setting. The Botany will also offer its own spa, spanning three treatment rooms, including a couple’s suite, hot tub, and relaxation space indoors and out. A yoga pavilion and fitness center will also grace the hotel.
For dining, Ginger Thomas celebrates Caribbean flavors through a contemporary lens. Guests can also visit the on-site coffee shop serving specialty coffee, light bites, grab-and-go meals and beach picnics built to order.
The Botany also boasts more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event venues for weddings, retreats and unforgettable gatherings, from oceanfront lawns and historic stone ruins to secluded beaches and poolside terraces.

The hotel will run on the sun for most of the year, pulling nearly entirely off solar energy. Goats graze beneath solar panels and keep the brush down, and every villa and public building is designed to catch and store rainwater.
Before arrival, guests work with the hotel’s pre-arrival team to curate the ideal stay, from dining and wellness experiences to logistics.
