The American Friends of Blérancourt — a group dedicated to preserving the National Museum of Franco-American Cooperation located within the Château de Blérancourt in Picardy, France — offers a fall Prestige Tour. The Oct. 1–7 junket includes visits to the châteaux and to the homes of families whose ancestors played pivotal roles in the American War of Independence. Among the highlights are a lunch date with a descendant of French Army Colonel Marquis de Lafayette at one of the colonel’s long-ago villas, drinks at the chateau of Rochambeau, and a stroll through the famed Monet Gardens at Giverny.

Along the way, participants will also visit the Chateau de Compiegne, designed by Napoleon for his wife Empress Eugénie; spend an evening with Madame Agnes Chombart de Lauwe, a member of Rochambeau’s family; visit Chateau de La Roche Guyon near Normandy, visit Lafayette’s final resting place at Picpus, have dinner at Le Procope (favored by Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson); explore the Vergennes Library in the Chateau de Versailles by the Marquis de Vergennes, and enjoy dinner at the Club France-Ameriques in Paris.
