Lifestyle hospitality company Ennismore reached a major milestone this month with the opening of its 100th property. The new hotel, SO/ Paris, officially launched this September, marking a significant moment for the hospitality brand.
Following a high period of growth across Europe, the Middle East, North and Central America and Asia, SO/Paris adds to the brand’s continual commitment to cultural programming and authentic bar and restaurant experiences. SO/Paris lies in one of the most coveted locations in Paris, situated between Notre-Dame Cathedral, Bastille and the Marais.
With 162 rooms and suites, the new hotel blends Parisian fashion, art, architecture and avant-garde design into one space. On the 15th and 16th floors lies Olafur Eliasson’s immersive installation, and other iconic art features span all floors of the hotel, from Neïl Beiloufa in the lobby to Thomas Fougeirol in the bedrooms.
The hotel’s restaurant, Bonnie Restaurant & Terrace, embodies 1960s and 70s influences through its design, atmosphere and cuisine. The space also boasts stunning views of Paris. For drinks, Bonnie Bar and the lobby café and bar provide handcrafted cocktails and aperitifs in the evening.
Other amenities of SO/Paris include an indoor heated pool, fitness center, spa and five meeting rooms of varying sizes.
Ennismore’s collective of lifestyle brands, formed in October 2021, came about through a joint venture with Sharan Pasricha and Accor, in which they brought together 14 brands with 87 operating properties worldwide. By the end of this year alone, Ennismore will have opened 30 new properties, with, on average, an opening every two weeks.
“This is a monumental moment for Ennismore; reaching our 100th property so early in our journey is an incredible achievement,” said Sharan Pasricha, founder and co-CEO, Ennismore. “Our dedication to creating truly unique lifestyle brands allows us to form deep connections with guests. We are extremely excited about what the future brings for Ennismore and our brands.”
Ennismore’s most recent openings include Gleneagles Townhouse, Edinburgh; 25hours Hotel One Central, Dubai; Mondrian Shoreditch, London; JO&JOE, Rio de Janeiro; Mama Shelter, Lisbon; The Hoxton Poblenou, Barcelona; and TRIBE Bali, Kuta Beach.
The UNESCO World Heritage neighborhood of Balat rivals İstanbul’s Old City for its historic significance, with an added splash of color. Its cobbled hilly streets boast a full rainbow of houses, cafés, restaurants and churches painted in pinks, reds, oranges, yellows, greens and blues — parts even surpassing my native San Francisco’s steep, colorful corridors. The most vibrant stretch of homes, dating anywhere from 50 to 200 years old, runs along Kiremit Caddesi.

Palm Springs became a destination of legend when Hollywood’s biggest and brightest during cinema’s “Golden Age” turned the desert community into their glamourous backyard. While restaurants and hotels epitomizing definitive Palm Springs luxury open, adapt and change with the times, it says something that one of its hottest restaurants sets up an outpost back in Los Angeles. And that’s exactly what chef Michael Beckman and restaurateur Joe Mourani did on the southern tip of the always-evolving Fairfax District.
Resort guests have never liked them, and now the White House and President Joe Biden plan to target them: resort fees. Whether it’s adding them on to resort amenities, like WiFi or access to the hotel gym, resort fees exist and frustrate many.
Much of the global business travel industry has already made sustainable business travel a priority with a focus on reducing emissions and their environmental footprint. But the industry, as well as external stakeholders, such as policymakers, recognize more needs to be done.
My husband and I recently traveled to London, England, on vacation, our farthest trip since the pandemic started. We were there for longer than a week and planned to squeeze in as much sightseeing as possible during our stay. Ahead of our trip, we knew we would want to mix in some relaxation, so we booked a couple’s massage at The Lanesborough’s spa halfway into our visit.
