Ready to unplug? Greet the day with a Kayak at Dawn self-guided tour of a sunken forest at Chepu Adventures Eco Lodge in Chepu, Chiloe Island, Insular Patagonia. The low-key lodge relies on wind and solar energy, while battery-powered kayaks are charged via wind generators. Instead of traffic, nightclubs and crowded lobbies, guests can completely unwind in a tranquil setting filled with birdsong.
Four hours by plane from Santiago, the property is made up of four cabanas and two shared rooms. Organically, locally grown fruits and vegetables are featured at meals, while local flora and fauna is featured 24/7. In addition to a host of bird species, there’s a good chance of sighting a rare southern river otter. The lodge has been certified for the second time by U.S.-based Green Globe Certification for exceptional dedication to all levels of environmental practices, low-impact tourism and commitment to its natural surroundings.
