U.S. business travel to Europe remains “largely unaffected” by the recent terrorism attacks in Paris, according to the results of a new poll published by the Global Business Travel Association.
Nearly 75 percent of the 169 U.S. business travel buyers surveyed say their company’s travel to Europe remains unchanged in the days following the attacks. A majority (57 percent) reported “no change,” while another 16 percent reported only “slight reductions” in travel plans to Europe.
Only 10 percent noted their companies temporarily suspended travel to Paris.
“This initial survey shows the resiliency of business travel in the face of these horrific attacks,” said Michael W. McCormick, executive director and COO, GBTA. “However, corporations, governments and the business travel industry must continue to work closely together to ensure a global travel system that is both safe and secure.”
The vast majority (93 percent) believe it is important travel to Europe continues as usual.

Sep 30, 2026Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley
Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
