Delta Air Lines will move all Beijing flights from Capital Airport (PEK) to the new Daxing Airport (PKX) by March.
The move makes Delta the first U.S. airline to operate out of the new airport, opened in September 2019. Delta flies daily between Beijing and Detroit (DTW) using an Airbus A350-900 aircraft, and also flies daily between Beijing and Seattle (SEA) using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
The airline said the relocation is timed with a similar move by its SkyTeam partner, China Eastern, which is also moving flights to Daxing. Delta said following suit will “ensure smooth and convenient international-domestic connections for customers from both airlines.” China Eastern is moving most of its flights, except for its Beijing–Shanghai route, to Daxing in early 2020.
Once Delta completes the move, passengers will have access to more than 30 domestic destinations in China with codeshare flights operated by China Eastern out of Daxing.
“We look forward to moving to our new home in Beijing,” said Wong Hong, president, Greater China and Singapore, Delta. “The brand new Daxing International Airport will provide us a great opportunity to better serve the growing needs of our customers in China. As Delta operates in the new mega airport, working with China Eastern side by side, customers will enjoy the improved departure and arrival times, seamless connection, more convenient baggage delivery, and faster security check, customs and boarding/arrival procedures.”

Opened this past November, Osaka Excel Tokyu Hotel rethinks the classic Japanese business hotel format in a delightful way. While the basic design concept is rooted in generations-old Japanese aesthetics, its wow factor comes from the interior designers’ approach of filtering them through a kaleidoscope. This effect is accomplished with ornate hexagonal lamps, carpeting with geometric shape motifs and pops of happy gold and blue hues. The lobby adds to that with a whimsical, but sophisticated mix of artwork and decorative ornaments, with a color palette and ornamentation that extends to 364 private rooms and suites throughout 17 floors.

The financial, political and administrative center of the country and an all-powerful city-state in antiquity, Athens is a major center of culture. A visit to the first-ever museum dedicated to Byzantium, a stroll around the National Garden and a trip to the Olympeion archaeological site will take you back through time.
