Delta Air Lines prepares to launch a non-stop route between New York (JFK) and Lagos (LOS) next year. The route will operate three times a week starting March 24, 2018, departing JFK Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 10:50 p.m., landing in Lagos at 2:05 p.m. the following day.

The return flight will leave Lagos at 10:30 p.m., arriving back into New York at 5:30 a.m. the following day.

An Airbus A330-200 will service the route, configured for 34 seats in Delta One business class, 32 Delta Comfort + seats and 168 main cabin seats.

“JFK is one of Delta’s gateways to the world, and we’re proud to make that world a little smaller with the launch of service to Lagos,” said Henry Kuykendall, vice president, New York, Delta. “This new route to the African continent joins existing service from JFK to Dakar and Accra, and follows new transatlantic routes to Lisbon, Berlin [a route which restarted in May after a gap of six years] and Glasgow that began this spring. We’re proud to continue to grow and refine our network to serve the more than 27 million Delta customers that pass through New York every year.”

Delta currently flies to Lagos with four weekly flights from its Atlanta (ATL) hub. The airline also operates flights to the African cities of Accra (ACC), Dakar (DKR) and Johannesburg (JNB).
