El San Juan Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, an iconic luxury property, joined Curio Collection by Hilton, marking the first Curio hotel to open in Puerto Rico.
The quickly growing North American chain launched this unique collection of hotels aimed at passionate, experience-seeking travelers. The San Juan Hotel was originally inaugurated in 1958, a favorite with several celebrities including Tony Bennett and Sammy Davis Jr., and after extensive renovations the new 388-room hotel is now open under its new distinctive brand.
“With the San Juan Hotel reopening today, we are proud to continue our growth throughout the Caribbean by welcoming you as the first Curio Collection property in this spectacular destination as a hotel that honors its proud past, while offering the modern features that today’s curious traveler has come to expect,” said Mark Nogal, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton.
The hotel is ideally situated in the Isla Verde district of San Juan, less than two miles from Pristine Beach, recently voted one of the top 10 most popular urban beaches in North America. With an average temperature of 79 degrees, Puerto Rico is a popular destination for travelers seeking natural beauty and idyllic weather, in addition to rich culture and history.
The hotel features five award-winning restaurants overseen by Executive Chef Gonzalo Rivera. A new restaurant will open this spring operated by a chef who has worked and directed some of the best restaurants in Spain and Miami for more than 15 years.
The El San Juan Hotel also features an 11,000-square-foot ballroom, the second-largest in San Juan, four pools and the San Juan Beach Club. It will introduce innovative programing, a state-of-the-art spa, fitness facilities and additional dining concepts throughout the year.
