Following the announcement of President Trump’s stricter Cuba policy in June, the travel industry faced uncertainty, with the exception of tour operators and cruise lines.
In the weeks immediately following the announcement, several cruise lines announced plans for new Cuban itineraries including Holland America Line and Norwegian Cruise Line. Cuba itinerary expansions continue this month with Azamara Club Cruises, Pearl Seas and Carnival Cruise Line.
Azamara will add cruises to Cuba from Miami in 2018 and 2019, featuring expanded night activities. The itineraries range 4–14 nights, featuring longer stays in port, new onboard Cuba-themed programming and two overnights in Havana.
Pearl Seas announced four sailings to Cuba in November and December from Fort Lauderdale, as well as a full schedule of cruises planned for 2018. The four 2017 cruises will depart Nov. 10, 20, 30, and Dec. 12.
Carnival Cruise Line tacked on five more voyages featuring extended calls in Havana in 2018. Cruises will sail Carnival Paradise from Tampa on five-, six- and eight-day itineraries. All cruises include a day-long call and overnight in Havana.
