Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, recently announced its own private-label tequila in collaboration with Reserva de la Familia, the ultra-premium line from Jose Cuervo.

The bespoke añejo blend, once reserved for the Cuervo family and its closest friends, brings a piece of Cuervo legacy to Punta Mita. The tequila is produced at La Rojeña, the oldest distillery in Latin America, made from 100 percent Blue Weber agave. The liquor is slow-cooked in traditional masonry ovens and fermented with spring water sourced from the volcano in Tequila, Jalisco. Each batch is double-distilled in copper stills for exceptional purity and then aged for nearly three years in rare Colombian oak barrels. The oak barrels aren’t a typical choice in the tequila process but it adds a unique complexity and nuance to the final drink.

“This collaboration with Reserva de la Familia allowed us to create something unprecedented: a spirit that not only honors tradition, but redefines it,” said John O’Sullivan, regional vice president and general manager, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. “It’s a true expression of Mexico’s cultural soul, our commitment to craftsmanship, and the elevated experiences our guests seek.”

Travelers can expect a rich and velvety profile with aromas of cocoa, caramelized bananas, chai, cinnamon and warm spices. The taste also includes notes of dried fruits and honey. Each bottle shows artisanal craftmanship and is hand-assembled, hand-labeled, numbered and wax sealed to ensure its exclusivity.

The tequila was created in four custom barrels, each filling 312 bottles, making only 1,248 bottles in the world. The production will not be repeated; it truly is a one-of-a-kind release.

Guests staying at the resort can enjoy the tequila neat or in hand-crafted cocktails at all food and beverage locations. Additionally, bottles will be available for purchase at Hakari, the resort’s boutique. Hakari will also offer exclusive tastings for guests to learn more about the tequila’s story, profile and taste.

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
