Royal Caribbean International is just one of the major cruise lines constantly working to up its game. No matter which port you want to cruise out of, it is likely there is some kind of Royal Caribbean service.
Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Odyssey of the Seas, is also the world’s largest. Odyssey is a Quantum Ultra class ship, set to arrive in North America around November 2020, featuring a brand new aesthetic to match the ship’s atmosphere.
One of the biggest features for the new ship is SeaPlex, an activity space offering one of the most interactive arcades on the ocean. With an amped-up teen lounge, the space includes game consoles, music, movies and more for groups of kids and teenagers. A two-level pool deck gives passengers plenty of spots to stretch out and catch some sun.
The ship is decked out with new cruising experiences and offers, available at the end of 2020. After one year of serving the Caribbean and surrounding markets, it will head to its homeport in Rome.
Royal Caribbean operates 28 ships across eight different classes. The cruise line sails to more than 300 destinations in the Caribbean and Bahamas, Europe, Alaska, North America, Asia and the South Pacific. The line also offers specialty cruises to South America and North Africa. No matter where your group is going, there’s likely an itinerary in the region.
Many major cruise lines offer childcare and youth clubs to keep kids busy while parents are enjoying the ship — Royal Caribbean is no exception. The line boasts different programs for travelers with babies and toddlers and programs for teenagers who want a break from their parents for a while. The line’s Adventure Youth Program lets kids in that middle range learn while they play and hang out with other cruisers their own age.
Different ships offer plenty of different options for dining, but every ship has a number of options. Check out the line’s dining page to see which offerings your ship has.

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
