If you’re lucky enough to find yourself in Warsaw, plan time for a visit to Poland’s largest science museum complex, the Copernicus Science Centre. The beautiful museum is located along the banks of the Vistula River, and there’s always something going on: Starry Night Concerts every Friday evening, monthly jazz performances, labs, High Voltage Theatre, workshops, planetarium laser shows, Robotic Theatre and an interactive Thinkatorium are only part of the galaxy of offerings. Through Sept. 11, exhibitions include Beyond the Lab: The DIY Science Revolution. Park of the Sparks European project, this exhibit takes a close look at non-scientists who have created medical devices, conducted groundbreaking experiments and helped to move science and medicine forward. In the center’s popular On the Move Gallery, 80 interactive exhibits allow you to dabble in the wonders of science and the natural world. In other corners of the science complex, Humans and the Environment turns you into your own exhibition while exploring your body’s limits and features. In the Lightzone, light is explored from optical illusions to effects caused by various types of electromagnetic radiation.
