Four years strong, the Sun Valley Harvest Festival kicks off Sept. 19 with a weekend of events revolving around great food and outstanding wines that continues until the afternoon of Sept. 22. This year, featured chefs at the Sun Valley event include cookbook author John Beriker, a member of the prestigious Chaine des Rotisseurs.
The delectable schedule includes a Food Mavericks panel discussion, restaurant walk, grand tasting, river guide cooking demonstration, harvest dinners, Martini and caviar party, Octoberfest party hosted by Sawtooth Brewery, and an event billed as Meet the Locals: Farmers and Food Artisans, to be held at Atkinson’s Market. Featured wines hail from Erath Winery, Northstar, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Col Solare, O Wines, Michelle, Spring Valley Vineyard and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars.
On Saturday, guest chef demonstrations get underway at Carol’s Dollar Lodge. On the menu: Chicago-based celebrity pastry chef and French Culinary Institute grad Malika Ameen, cookbook author, television personality and nutrition expert Tina Ruggiero; and chefs Tal Ronnen and Scot Jones of LA’s Crossroads Kitchen. Topics range from Cooking for Your Libido and How to Jump Start Your Morning to From the Restaurant to Your Table.
