The Cooper, Charleston’s first-ever waterfront luxury hotel, is now accepting reservations ahead of its opening on March 1, 2026. The upcoming property, along Charleston Harbor, is set to redefine Southern coastal hospitality.
The Cooper’s 191 guestrooms and suites reflect the charm of Charleston’s meandering waterways and Southern elegance through a neutral palette, light oak floors and shiplap wall paneling. Some accommodations will also boast private balconies to soak up the sun and breeze and enjoy waterfront or downtown city views.
In addition to elevated accommodations, The Cooper will also be home to The Crossing, its signature restaurant inspired by the timeless tradition of setting sail and charting new waters. Utilizing flavors from Mediterranean coastlines, dishes are woven with local ingredients by Executive Chef Nick Dugan. The Crossing will offer waterfront views, a private dining room and chef’s table, as well as a circular bar and raw bar.
There’s more food and beverage venues set to hit the scene at The Cooper, too. CurrentBurger will be a modern twist on the classic soda shop with an all-day menu of smash burgers, fries, fountain sodas, hand-spun milkshakes and soft-serve ice cream. Inside, expect counter seating, a jukebox and other retro designs. Cooper Coffee & Wine, meanwhile, overlooks The Cooper Marina, offering coffee and breakfast in the morning and wine in the evening.
On the fourth floor of the hotel is Bar Marti, a lively poolside bar and dining spot for guests only. Bar Marti will serve handcrafted cocktails and light, fresh fare.
The Cooper will also boast a 7,000-square-foot spa with bespoke treatments, red light therapy beds, cryotherapy loungers, experiential showers and compression sleeves. An on-site marina with a fleet of luxury vessels (including a Hinckley yacht) will be available for guest excursions, dinner cruises and private events. Guests also have access to a rooftop infinity pool with cabanas, as well as personal concierge service. More than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space will also be available.
