Thailand’s leading hotel operator is planning a major Vietnamese expansion by 2024.

Centara Hotels and Resorts plans to open at least 20 hotels throughout Vietnam in the next four years. Key locations include Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi Haiphong and high-growth areas like Trang, Cam Ranh and Hoi An. There are no concrete plans as to which brands will expand into Vietnam, but Centara sees potential for all six of its brands.

Tourism to Vietnam reached record numbers in 2018, with 15.5 million visitors coming to the nation. The positive trend is expected to continue, driving the demand for expanded hotel offerings throughout the country.

Currently, Centara operates 71 hotels worldwide, offering 13,000 rooms across Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, the Middle East and more.
